Andean Aymara

The sixth annual International Linguistics Olympiad was held this year in Bulgaria. After taking a look at the test, I noticed that there is question about Aymara. Interesting! Check out the relevant part of the test below. You can see the versions of the test (in a variety of meta-languages) by clicking here.

Note also that the question gives the test-takers some preliminary information, that suggests that Aymara is spoken only “in the area around Lake Titicaca”. This is an unfortunate simplication…
